Pretty sure the tall grass you picked up on the landing gear made you stall over the thresh hold ;)

Impressive! Thanks for serving God! Looked pretty short to me. Guess you only used about 600 feet of the available 934! Very Nice!

just wondering why the need to drag the aircraft onto the airstrip as oppose to gliding it in?
chepeiscua 3 weeks ago
@chepeiscua The video makes the approach look pretty shallow, but it's quite steep all the way to the ground. There are several reasons for a power-on approach but the one that addresses what you're thinking of is that it yields a lower stall speed than a power-off transition. We approach slow enough that once the power is cut the plane drops. We do not fly behind the power curve, which would yield slower speeds, but is dangerous on a one-way airstrip like this with no go-around options.

why the engine off?

@efastMixer Not sure when you're referring to. We never shut the engine off but it was at idle just before touchdown.

900 ft airstrip? it sure looks a lot longer than that.....

@Reaganinsky You're right...it was 934 ft. and the angle of the video makes it look long. Believe it or not, it looks pretty short when you approach just shy of Cessna Gross weight and the grass is wet.
