  • Long hair cats get lots of tangles and matted hair, especially older and fatter ones that can't reach the back. Don't worry, it's not vanity.

  • "Why the hell do people do this.. Its stupid, your cat doesn't want its hair cut"

Doesn't matter what the cat wants or doesn't want. There are times when we all need things whether we want them or not. I'm sure this same cat doesn't want it's ears cleaned out. But if it had a bad mite infestation then someone would clean them out, period.

Doesn't matter what the *cat* wants. If that were the case there would be a lot more discomfort & suffering of all living things in the world.

  • Thank you very much for the video

  • My old fat long-haired cat started getting huge knots all over him, despite daily brushings since he was a kitten. It got so bad that it was necessary to get him groomed because the hair would be so knotted that it would pull and hurt him every time he walked around or got picked up or petted. Since we've had him groomed he's no longer in pain and much happier. Sometimes grooming is the HUMANE thing to do. Stop criticizing, people. This is necessary. Not vanity.

  • its an old cat lady :O

  • I really think some people in this world troll around looking for something to be offended by. Ridiculous. I have an old, fat long haired cat. He's always groomed himself, but as he ages it gets more difficult for him. He didn't pick that long hair, he was born with it. He gets exasperated now because he can't get everywhere. When he's shaved it almost seems like I've released him from a heave burden, and he's in general a happier cat. Grow up people...

  • @4870lagfixplease I am guessing it is an Oster A5

  • Thanks for the helpful and informative video. I managed to get 2 matts off today but remembered your 15-minute rule which was about right.

My groomer charges £50 a time but I got my own Oster trimmers for that much and hopefully will be able to zap matts as they appear. :)
