Yeah sure there where also many other groups including even many Catholics and protestants and priests from other religions who refused to put Hitler before God.

Some people claim that Hitler claimed to be christian... maybe he did indeed claim that... But even if the devil himself came to the earth he might even claim that, right?

He might have claimed to be christian - but he demanded people to put himself before God.

how are they taking it much more seriously in the German movie?

I give you that the love story didn't exist. But other than that this movie is closer to the truth than the German one.

Also the main problem that i have with the German one is that it has been so heavily altered for entertainment purposes that the moral message that was originally intended by the teacher is no longer present in the German version.

@LukeH2oo9 The German version is so much better as it is real. In a way the German version is actually ridiculing the criticism of banks and globalism, and fortifies that the established government is reliable and true, something that in the end is there to support you.

We have to think further to get the point, but are those who watches it taking the effort to do so ? I doubt it.

The only thing I don't get is how come we never learn about totalitarianism and genocide in other countries. Why aren't people making movies about the USSR and the Holodomor? You'd think Germany was the only place this ever happened.

@LaDracul youre right there i for one am a german and i have lived in ireland for several years. The thing is that if your a german in another country everybody seems to dislike you for beeing a german. I my self often punched people for trying to herass me about beeing proud to be a german. i am proud to be a german but doesent make me a nazi or a an antichristan or whatever else

In fact, many Germans are ashamed of the Nazis, and distance themselves from them, which is good, as what they stood for was horrible. :(
