@trabujar It is on top of the ball. I thought you loaded cap and ball revolvers, thumb to half cock, put cap on first, load powder, then wadding, then bullet, press down with ramrod or simular device such as on the LeMat shown, then seal with wax, skip one chamber, repeat till the others are loaded.

@trabujar Could also be wax to seal the chambers and to prevent a chain fire, common to cap and ball revolvers.

The swede's gun is called a grapeshot revolver. It held nine rounds instead of six, and it had a shotgun barrel under the pistol barrel. Pretty sweet.
