On Saturday February 27 a few minutes past 3:30 am local time, and while many where peacefully asleep, an 8.8-magnitude earthquake, one of the largest ever-recorded, hit the nation of Chile.
Dozens of aftershocks and a major tsunami with reported waves of over 18 feet followed this earthquake. The significance of these figures would not be clear for the Chilean people and the world until much later.
Days after the catastrophe, the understanding of the colossal destruction to homes, roads, and lives is ever more clear. Technology is on our side and reports of the aftermath are not just coming from news stations but also from every day people. The images are overwhelming.
Whether you can give a little or give a lot, your donation will make a difference.
