We have had thieves that opened a container and stole a bunch of cellphones while the train was waiting in a siding, And they didn't close the door after them. Result was cell-phones littered along the line for miles. Not to mention the hazard an open container door poses to people waiting for a train and signposts and so on... As you see we have a different type of container we call a 25' load carrier. These are specially designed to fit on a truck. and they have side doors for easy unloading.

He's not a conductor (description) he's the station master.

Thank you for the information. I have corrected the description. Thought that was a great idea to have someone monitoring the station like that. Norway really has it together!

yea, parts of his duties are to look for defects along the train, such as flat spots, sticking brakes, open container doors, or anything else that looks wrong.

Again, Norway gets it right. Nothing like that here in the U.S. You can often hear flat spots on the wheels, and often see graffiti filled rail cars with their doors wide open (always empty, though).
