I didn't say that I agree with punishing without evidence only that he might in fact have been guilty. I hope he is not guilty and dislike the idea of the US acting as bad as the Soviets while still critisizing Cuba.
Well, that's the point that the anchor is making. It wasn't the fact that this man was arrested which is shocking. It's the fact that the US army didn't do him the dignity of even questioning him after he had been arrested.
The army couldn't give a rat's ass about finding terrorists. They didn't care about innocence or guilt. They only needed targets to fulfill a political agenda.

He could still in fact have been a terrorist. So could I. So could you.
The question is whether the process convicting him could have persecuted an innocent man and the answer is thast it could.
