New CD avalaible in via Altinate, 20 Padova - Musicamusica. In 2004, two Venetian composers, Paolo Pesce and Sebastiano Vianello joined forces with eight musicians to give birth to a musical concept matured in the course of their concert tours around the world. Inspired by the influences of those faraway lands, they composed works fusing traditional and modern styles forming a new and harmonious style all their own. The music presented by Venice Light Orchestra is extremely versatile: a mèlange of genres that can be inserted into various categories: ethnic, classical, techno and also for movie soundtracks; this mix of styles is emblematic of the multiple means of expression used today: a search of freedom without boundaries, encounters between diverse cultures. "Symphonic Reflections" is the title of the group's debut album (2007), the result of an arduous creative process -- taking the listener on an imaginary journey to five continents traversing various settings, rich in sounds and virtuosity of extraordinary intensity. The ensemble consists of 10 extraordinary professional musicians: the electric quartet- two violins, one viola and an electric cello; a keyboard , a flute/piccolo, an oboe/soprano saxophone, and a traditional rhythm section: electric bass, drums/percussion and piano. The Venice Light Orchestra is a non-stop show where you can experience great music in a fluid style that merges one composition seamlessly into the next. Using special lighting effects, video clips and background images shown on a maxi screen, together with the creative interpretation made possible by the unique instruments used, the spectator is captivated and whisked into an emotional crescendo of sensations. www.venicelightorchestra.com (photos by Antonella Santoro)
