@1337wafflezz Governments NEVER stay small. EVER. Even with a "ruling document" like the constitution. They don't give a fuck about that! The smallest governments always, coincidentally, generate the most wealth, and then they grow larger as they attempt to tax it all away. Also, government ALWAYS attracts the biggest and baddest people who want to infringe on us. You are very naive to think that any kind of government could ever remain "pure". Government it a failed experiment; MOVE ON.
@jeffsandychelsea We have seen however how anarchy is only a temporary state as the people need SOMEONE to protect their rights against the biggest and baddest people who want to infringe upon it. Thus begins the social contract as described by Locke.
Smaller government IS the answer, but we need a smaller government WITH a ruling document to stop against measures that would have them take away our freedoms. The founding fathers had it right.
@Pananarchist ya but when we talk about anarchism..we're usually not talking about its official platform.. although theres a difference between an anarchist and a self proclaimed anarchist..the distinction is only made by real anarchists.. of which the general population is not very full. besides, there are different kinds of anarchy..id say anarcho capitalism is my thing.. but i usually dont like to get involved with politics. im just a guy who hates common beliefs and assumed authority..
It depends on the definition. Socialism is a very ambiguous word. If it's voluntary worker run factors or voluntary unions ( as in not the authoritarian and cartel unions today), or even voluntary commons, then yes, I would say I am a "socialist." But if you mean the state ownership of wealth to "re-distribute," then not at all. You're right though. Any anarchist that claims there should be a man-regulated market, is not an anarchist at all.
It's just a term to describe a society without govts.
People hear anarchy and think about these clowns talking about Capitalism being evil, dressing in some raggedy clothes and doing drugs.
I don't care how you dress or what drugs you take but discrediting anarchism is something I do care about and I will point out the contradictions of Socialists when the chance is given.

War is not possible unless the government jacks half your shit every paycheck. "Smaller government" is not the answer. NO government is the answer.

Because of the meaning behind it.
From the Greek root form, "without rulers".
It's just a term to describe a society without govts.

@tob1203
Anyone who is serious about ending the State does not discredit a free market economy.
Anarchists are not Socialists.
