looks like you were flying in from the west over Livingston and Bathgate into Edinburgh airport with the forth river and Fife in the background to the north.

I have flown many times from Edinburgh airport to and from London Heathrow and London Gatwick aiports. Edinburgh is tiny compared Heathrow and Gatwick.
