Very well done there.

That would be so awesome if you did a bunch of tutorials. Hope you can include one that has what I`m looking for. I`ll be watching your post daily...and I mean literally daily for these tutorials. Thanks again

Very cool, can't wait to see the next one.

You should really do a tutorial on this project. What I`m trying to do is create 30 sec videos of terians and building and taking actual photo of people(extracted with photoshop) and putting them in a animated scene. Never seen it done before no matter how hard I look for a tutorial on it. Any help would be a godsend.

I actually have plans for a pretty large series of tutorials from small ones that cover basics to larger full project oriented tutorials.
Just gotta get my current project finished first. :)

Nicely done! The dragon fly animation looks very smooth and believable. Beyond the technical aspects the scene is pleasant and inviting. Hard to believe that was only and hour render.

Yep, 1 hour.
All the background stuff is just animated billboards. All pre-rendered.
I've used them in several projects now.
HUGE time savers.

How long would it take to render this scene...and would you consider this better then Vue 7 xstream?

Because of the techniques used this scene took about 1 hour to render.
The background foliage and grass were all rendered previously in Carrara and added to my library of animated trees and plants.
I wouldn't call it better than Vue, they are different applications. Vue has some features that Carrara does not. And the same can be said about Carrara. You'd need to take a close look at what you are trying to accomplish before you could compare the two programs for your personal use.
