The administration's recommendations for closing schools is scheduled to be released next month. We are presenting this video, from the September School Board meeting, to provide context for those recommendations. In this segment, Superintendent William Andrekopoulos told the Board that he has a "It leaves me with a strong, strong feeling that it doesn't matter, the quality of the school...It's quite apparent in some places the concept of neighborhood doesn't exist."
He added a bit later: "Maybe we just have a busing strategy in certain neighborhoods, not a school strategy because the people in that neighborhood are -- there's too many schools in there -- and they're not sending their children to the (MPS) schools in that neighborhood."
