Street Fighter 2 Super Edition explanation of the game and how this game pretty much killed the OG Scene in SF. Boring, crappy, game.

  • No, I didn't. Mike went without me.

  • I find it amazing how you remember each match separately. Must have been an awesome time in your life.

  • It is because back then IT WAS IMPORTANT. I mean you got dozens of people all over the place just dedicating all their spare time to coming and beating you....when you play people like that, its memorable.

  • MIke plays GUILE differently than me, I never do that up forward kick when I play him, I jump and air throw alow, and mis that up with jump up roundhouse early, low roundhouse and standing roundhouse, or duck fierce then throw if it hit me. Mike likes the low dmg forward, which is good, but I liked the style BIG damage move air throw, like I did on Daigo when he tried to jump up against my guile. Like that. HUGE DMG

  • Thank you. I am nice, just when we are playing, very competitive, as people will testify to. I have the "fire" so to speak.

  • @laakuma WHAT WOULD TOMO`S GUILE DO AGAINST A VIRTUAL LOCK AGAINST SAGAT?

  • Sounds like it was a really different attitude back then in the SF2 tourney days...either that or you're just a super nice dude. Either way good stuff thx for the stories.

  • @TheSF2Dude

Thanks for the info bro. I had only seen one video of Old School Mike Watson. It's one where he is rocking a dirty sanchez while playing Super Slow Fighter II. Too bad there is no Hyper Fighting footage to be seen from those days :(

  • how much can you win during those days playing tournaments? I use to play against Mike Watson in around the San Gabriel area. You should take your talents and play poker like I did...much more lucrative now!!

  • @SELG88 not get in it?

  • Hey Jeff, just wondering, did you play in the big Super Street Fighter II tournament held by capcom that Mike Watson won against Jesse Howard?

  • You'd take fools to school and then take them out to lunch. Haha, I like that. Good shit, Schaeffer. Thanks for sharing.

  • Super didn't just bomb in the arcades, but in the home consoles as well. Capcom overestimated demand for the SNES & Genesis ports of SSF2, based on the great sales of the previous SF2 ports, and overproduced copies. When they were released in the summer of '94, they totally bombed (especially with MK2 so close to release that September), and the gaming public lashed back at Capcom for releasing yet another SF2 revision for $60-$70. Surprisingly SNES SSF2 sold 2 mil in Japan alone.
