On Thursday NASA Space Shuttle Discovery launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla. for its 39th and final trip into space.

The six crew members are bringing new experiments and hardware to the International Space Station. Also on board is Robonaut 2, the first humanoid robot to fly in space.

Discovery's flight marks the retirement of NASA's shuttle fleet. Endeavor and Atlantis are expected to launch later this year.
