Joey L DeFrancesco tells his story of working in the Providence Renaissance Hotel. For more stories please visit http://www.joeyquits.com.
Note: The tipping system Joey says is "illegal" was deemed not to be technically illegal. It is still grossly unjust, though, and we look forward to laws that clearly state that managers may not steal tips from employees, no matter how management complicates the system to get around existing laws.
The United States needs to enforce a legal minimum wage. In Canada, employers are not legally allowed to pay an employee less than $9.75 per hour.

Thank you for sharing your story, Joey. When managers, CEOs, and owners see that they need to treat their employees with dignity and respect, then and only then will things change. Some already do, but we need to keep the pressure on!

thanx joey for your website, many people think like : just be thankful that you have a job and with this mentality they got fucked everywhere, this can't go on like this. there are so many parasites who live only because people like us work the holf of the day for em. i'm from germany and here especially in the industry it's becoming more and more a scandal and people just accept this
