  • Yeah, they should have some music notation software. I maybe wrong but I never seen a preloaded computer with musical notation software. That would would awesome. I play piano.

  • It wouldn't come preloaded, I have never seen that either. Keep your fingers crossed the iTunes store will have something!

  • I'm looking forward to a second gen. iPad that'll run more Mac OS X type OS. This way, we could run more of the applications you mentioned. I would LOVE to have GB on an iPad, I just don't think Finale would work. Great vid!

  • It would be great if you can load software/cd the same way the Air does, but that might compete too much with Air. I think they are really going to push the iTunes store for everything.

  • @chrishalliwell77 thanks!

  • @olekike It means when you buy a new computer it's already installed with software

  • @chrishalliwell77 what is a preloaded computer? i also play piano.

  • @webraider72 I agree totally

  • Yes, I do wish myself Sibelius Logic and band in a box would rethink for the ipad. The reason why i don't like carrying a laptop on my back with all the other University stuff, it gets too heavy. Wake up sibelius, Logic, and Band in a box

  • musicians just use their instruments.

  • I thought this video was a review of how a musician can use the ipad ,but its only you saying what you wish the ipad could do.

  • @banihex Agreed. As I said elsewhere I never saw the iPad as a laptop replacement - it just isn't that kind of device. I use mine for displaying music, a remote mixer for Logic Pro and some virtual instruments.

I also see a lot of potential for it to run a light version of Sibelius as it works with styluses and is portable as you say. I think for something like Garageband however, a laptop would be the device to use.

  • I hope there will be new firms besides Coda specializing on sheet music editing. Finale has just too many flaws for me as guitarist.

  • I am getting warmed to the iPad. Have you tried any iPad apps that use multitouch technology? It's kind of a special interface thing. Looptastic HD for example, lets you throw loops into 3 mix zones and record the performance on the Touch Pad triggering effects like Stutter/Glitch and others. its fast and immediate sort of like grabbing a hardware control. It's mostly about what the new interface tech brings to the party. :)
