i love his guitar

Willie needs to relax more.

This is not singing. This is talking through a song. He is just getting to old. I have many of his songs but this video stinks.
-
you go to a Willie Nelson concert to hear his music. the singing on the other hand... still a great artist though

@marlonmillburn67 Besides ignoring the brilliant song writer that Willie is, two things undermine your argument: using all-caps like a retarded chimp and having a Julio Iglesias playlist.

WILLIE IS GREAT NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. BUT I FOR ONE AM GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF THE LACK OF RESPECT FOR JERRY LEE LEWIS. HE'S A BETTER MUSICIAN SINGER AND ENTERTAINER THAN WILLIE NELSON. IT'S NOT JUST AMERICANS THAT DON'T GIVE HIM THE PROPER RESPECT. PEOPLE LIKE MICK JAGGER DAVID BOWIE JOHN LENNON WHO IS MY MAIN MAN BY THE WAY. NEVER MENTION HIM AS ANY KIND OF MENTOR.

Waylon said in an interview that Willie sing in 4/4 and 1/8 time. lol. I love how Willie tags notes at the end the bar. He has forgot more about music than most musicians know.

Legend, pure and simple. Luv U Willie

@JimCashFan This delivery is also reminiscent of line singing, where a song leader sings the a line first, then the congregation (because it originated in churches) sings the line at the right time. Originally it was to teach new songs or remind people of the words when there was no hymnal. But as you see, singing the line out of time adds an entirely new layer of emotion musically. (Like the feeling is too intense to wait for the music to unfold). Long live Willie!

You should all check out JOHN HOLT.... for the proper version of this. Willie Nelson is a legend but so is JOHN HOLT
I'd say it's Willie being Willie. He plays with good timing, and I think the band has their monitors turned off to his mic so they don't get distracted by him. Just playing the song like it should be.
The only one I've ever known that could "speak" a song well was George Burns.

yea thats why hes the man. but i mean hes been playing guitar almost 70 years. that probably would have been more of an issue like 40 or 50 years ago. he has wrote over 2500 songs. his first one at the age of 7.
