Sometime there should be a song about The Old Yuppie, who has never recovered from the summer of '08. when he lost his BMW and his Rolex and his MBA went worthless.

Yea but who would care about such yuppies? Old hippies didn't tune out like many would have us believe, but by & large where contributing members of society. In general hippies didn't set out to help themselves at the expense of others

Born in 1953, I'm proud to be an "old hippie." We've accomplished a lot in our lifetimes so far - computers (Steve Jobs born 1955, Steve Wozniak 1950, Bill Gates 1955, etc), rock & pop music, mobile/cellular phones, satellite radio/television, human rights, and so on. However, we've never really tried all that much to adjust - most pushed those limits where we could instead. However, must admit that's getting harder each day and it's tempting to just sit back and ride it out.

For those of us who lived it -- it was the best of times. Embrace the change...but never, ever forget the gifts those times gave. Some tough -- and some tragic. I thought we'd learned a few things.

just an old hippie even though I went to war and did my duty.. I realize that freedom of choice is important enough to fight for
