It's just pyrex and vegetable oil.
Since they have the same refraction index, light passes through without changing speed, making the pyrex test tube seem invisible.

TOTALLY! The pyrex has to be halo doesn't it? This is good to know...
what if something is inside the pyrex, will it disapear as well?

it will still work with a slid piece of pyrex, as long as there is no air in it.
Something in the pyrex will not disappear, it will merely appear to float in the oil.

plus i would not suggest using that oil for anything other than that physics trick because it is NARSTY
