2009 Baga Youth Football Association--Summer Camp, Aug 3-6

August 3-6, 2009, 100-120 kids age 5-19 showed up at the Keartons Field in Baga, St. Vincent to participate in the first annual B.Y.F.A. Summer Soccer camp. Morning sessions 8-10 AM for 5-13 year olds and afternoon sessions 3-5 PM for 14 and older. Each child received a shin guard and soccer jersey donated from US Soccer's Passback program. Thanks to Eurosport for coordinating that effort. Jerseys were also donated from the East Wake Soccer Assoc. in Knightdale, NC. Thanks to Scott Gage for coordinating that.

The kids had fun. I had fun. My friend Lawrence Taiwo made the trip thanks to Dave Ruslander's generous donation of high frequent flier miles. Now Lawrence wants to go back on his own and help out however he can.

People helping people make a difference.
Nothing better than that.
