Would it be better to add a little weight to the disc?

driver needs to slow down. a disc works best at slow speed. drive faster and it rolls over the top of your work area instead of penetrating.

@dhunt1964 in these conditions yes because its too hard to stay in the ground.

I live near ashville and damn I cant believe any part of NC looks like that, it looks like florada but with clay instead of sand. pretty effective product though, but we till our whole half acre garden with a 8 horsepower hand tiller, I bet that is way easier though.

I notice you seem to use two different tractors..One seems to be an L model,and the other I believe might be a MX model, can you explain the difference between the two models, other than the tires..

I have a 5'x12"x6" granit slab on the back of my harrow, it does not float on top of the soil.
