Eric Shuster and Charles "Chuck" Sale, co-authors of The Biblical Roots of Mormonism, offer a unique validation of Mormon doctrines as revealed in the Bible. The book shows how the Bible, standing alone, sustains Latter-day Saint theology and practice. Biblical teaching and Mormon understanding are discussed side-by-side. Key Bible passages are quoted, not merely cited. The Book includes 23 chapters, more than 300 distinct topics, a comprehensive index of more than 1,000 biblical references, a bibliography to aid further study, and an extensive table of contents for easy reference and lesson plan building. Nagging questions are answered about the nature and purpose of Jesus Christ; the Trinity; premortal existence; faith, grace, and works; the afterlife; God the Father; the Holy Ghost; Satan; modern revelation and prophets; Joseph Smith; capital punishment; same-gender attraction; abortion; polygamy; and much more. This book is an important contribution to Christian literature. It is clear, concise, and highly readable. It will deepen the appreciation of Latter-day Saints for their biblical heritage. It will strengthen ties between Mormons and other Christians, enhancing positive dialogue and deepening mutual understanding throughout the Christian world. And it will help non-Christians better understand Christianity in general, and the Mormon practice of Christianity in particular.
My book attempts to discuss the key doctrines of Mormonism using the Bible - a common platform that all of us as Christians share. My intent is to create a dialogue we can all learn from. You may not agree with my interpretations; however, that is OK - we can agree to disagree and have joy in our Lord and Savior and together defend the values of Christianity that are constantly under attack.

I have been advised to take this privately and wait for some friends findings who are doing a review of your book. So if you want to continue with me privately, I'm ok with that.
Peace

@HeardLearned yes that is the issue. Seems the only box with details that may be missing, are in the book "Biblical Roots of Mormonism. I will wait for the brothers to do the book review. Thank you HL

Are you sure the Bible testifies of itself having all of the word of God? That is simply not true. Paul testified of an open canon by referring to “all scripture” at a time when the only scriptures in existence were those contained in the Old Testament. He referred to scripture as that which is “given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Even John in this final verse said that all the books in the world could not contain the words of Christ. God still lives and speaks in scripture.

@fcseshuster>"If you have 500 pieces to a puzzle and are able to find and fit together 450 of those pieces what do you have? You can still get an idea of what the puzzle is, but you are missing some of the details"
As a Christian, I have Bible, it contains all the pieces for the completed picture: all scripture 2Tim3:16-17.
Biblically, theres no "modern day scriptures"
What I'm wondering about: in your book titled: "The Biblical Roots of Mormonism", are you missing some pieces of the details?

Barb:
If you have 500 pieces to a puzzle and are able to find and fit together 450 of those pieces what do you have? You can still get an idea of what the puzzle is, but you are missing some of the details. The Old Testament provides us teachings that are fully realized and understood with the New Testament. Mormon doctrine can be explained using the Bible; however, the entire picture becomes more clear when adding modern day scriptures.

O.k., according to information I've been given and shared with you, including what you just told me:
>"Every doctrine in my Book is Mormon doctrine found in the Bible."
This can only mean:
The Mormon doctrines that are not based on, or founded in, the pages of the Bible (example "doctrine of eternal progression"), you have simply just left them out of your book.
Honestly, am I right? If I or anyone purchases your book, is that what they will find out?

Hey sis. I'll have to get a copy of the book and read it; this vid is about the man's book, so I'll have to read it before I can make a fair comment about it.
