ok uhm, I assume you have seen the video. can you please point out what exactly looks "unreal"?

What I see is very real full contact stickfighting and technique demonstrations (knife, one unarmed ground technique mma style and many with sticks).

So WHAT is your point?

I have never seen a real street fight that has not involved some asshole pulling knife from his pocket, a person trying to break a bottle on some guys head, or a guy pulling a bat or tire iron from their car.

Last I checked, a street fight involved using any and everything at hand to gain an advantage over the guy whose face you want to cave-in.

I could easily imagine many real situations where both fighter find themselves with some kind of weapon.

What Im wonder is how come hes goes through all this technique stuff but in those legit gatherings, I dont really see anything but front to back motions. No triangular foot work or looking for openings. Just quicker to strike. It honestly looks like mayhem fencing. Sure its bad ass, but what the hell.

I have one thing to say to all the FMA people here who get annoyed by IGNORANT comments from other martial artists. When someone is aggressive and stupid in what they say and they dont want to hear your point about knives or stick fighting. That is a good thing. We can train mma, fma and jkd thus getting the best of all of it. Ego maniacs are the type of people that we dont want carrying knives. If some thug or frat boy is dumb enough to think MMA is all you need thats great. drop the ego.

@earthswine999 At these gatherings which is were they fight. They use training knives (they started using electrified onces that shock you) they also use the sticks, staff, and ive seen a clip were a guy was using a bullwhip so as long as two combatants agree to fight with whatever weapon then its allowed.

Milder999 says a very true thing about grappling on the street. Grappling a guy on the street is fine if you face one guy. But what happens when his friends or any clueless bystanders turn up?. Can you guarantee that when you audibly or visually notice their arrival (probably at a heck of a speed) that you will have enough time to disentangle yourself and be combat-ready before they arrive?.

You're more than likely not grappling on a nice soft mat you know.

Well at the end of the day slinging insults about who knows what and who trained under who, and who didn't take English 101 doesn't really mean shit at the end of the day and it only makes all parties look like five year old kids.
