Bishop Walter Hawkins - Part 2 - LAST PUBLIC PERFORMANCE - "Marvelous"

**Rest In Peace, Bishop Walter Hawkins** Bishop Walter Hawkins ministers with "Marvelous," one of his best-known songs, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC on April 24, 2010. This concert was a part of the "Joyful Sounds: Gospel Across America" celebration hosted by the Kennedy Center and organized by Rev. Nolan Williams.

Bishop Hawkins is backed by one of his best friends, Richard Smallwood, and Minister Dennis Sawyers. He opens up the selection with a personal testimony about how he'd been battling Pancreatic Cancer for the past 2 years, and how his love for God never wavered.

The second half of the concert was devoted solely to the music ministry of Bishop Hawkins. The National Symphony Orchestra and choir are conducted by Stanley Thurston.

Bishop Hawkins passed away on the evening of July 11, 2010, and THIS video was from his last public performance. This is truly HISTORY!

What can I say but "Thank you Lord"! I have always Bishop Walter Hawkins at a little girl. I remember when the Love fellowship choir sung a song along time ago. I want be satisfied until I see my Jesus breaking through the clouds. Lord I want be satisfied until I see my Jesus. Thanks for sharing. I grew up on the Hawkins. R.I.P to the Bishop. I sung in choirs that Stanley Thurston has conducted. It is great to see he is still making an impact in Choral music. I would've loved to have sung in this choir.

This moves me to tears. His body may have been failing but his spirit and voice was so full of strength and conviction! His music will live on thru the generations.

We often say "rest in peace" when someone of good report has gone on to GLORY. I would like all of us to imagine that Bishop Hawkins may be still singing God's praises. He often said "Follow me as I follow Christ. I beleive that he still praising. I beleive this is true because I can still feel/ hear he sing "Marvelous"
