This short animation about my plan for ridding the world of nuclear weapons was created for the 2009 Swackhamer Video Contest sponsored by the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation answering the prompt, "How can we make sure that the 'nuclear genie' stays in the bottle forever?"

All weapons placed in the hands of the united nations? And what happens when the UN becomes corrupt? Or unanimously agree to do something catastrophic?

you realize what a far fetched hypothetical backwards idea that is? i dont know if you know this but the united nations is an organized gathering of at least one representative of almost every nation in the world. so who would they blow up one of their fellow members or those select few who choose not to attend. what your arguing is so ridiculously specific it seems like you are trying to find something wrong with my video. Though I do appreciate the criticism, you should stick to drunk grandmas

you could say, "LETS GATHER ALL THE COKE AND MARIJUANA IN JAMAICA AND DESTROY IT SO NOBODY WOULD EVER HAVE IT" would it stop drugs from being produced illegally? i dont think so.

your right it wouldn't stop the coke and marijuana from being produced illegally however coke and marijuana are much easier to produce illegally then lets say a nuke which takes a lot more work, money, time, and space. its a little harder to sneak around a nuclear device or mask an entire nuclear production facility then it is to stop some hippie growing pot in his basement or an executive from stuffing a salt shaker of blow in his pocket. i'd say your right about drugs, but wrong about nukes.

How about the people who want to use nuclear energy as a new energy source? It 's virtually impossible to distinguish the beginning part of the nuclear-enriching process for both weapons-making and energy-making processes. So I think a ban on any kind of nuclear research would be hard. :P
