Union workers are in danger of being replaced with poverty-wage jobs at the Hilton Seattle. The hotel's owner, R.C. Hedreen, has put the Hilton Seattle on the market and refuses to sign a successorship agreement. Without successorship the new owners will likely 'cut their costs' by firing workers. On January 23rd, 2012, Unite Here members and community allies gathered at the Hilton Seattle to share a simple message; we will stand with the Hilton Seattle workers and boycott this hotel until they sign a successorship agreement.
It happened at the 13 Coins restaurant. Across from the SeaTac Airport. I asked the shop steward if they had a successership clause in their contract, she said No. I said I'm sorry for you. The first thing to go was their health insurance. So some paid $400, part month. Now their only 3 left. GOOD LUCK TO YOU GUYS. WE HERE IN SF LOCAL 2 HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 YEARS FOR THE HYATT TO SIGN. EVERYONE ELSE DID LAST YEAR..
