  • can you post a video that how it work in KSNA to KLAX please... i do that but its not the same as what you've done in KLAX to KSNA.

  • It's not the same, because in that case, KLAX is your destination. So you must find the ILS frequency corresponding to KLAX and tune it into your radio. The rest should be the same!

  • hi dude, i fly an b747-400 and i have a problem with the altitude hold switch because when i intercept the g/s, it supposed that the altitude switch disconnects automatically, but mines doesn't do that, and i have to do it manually. what i'm doing wrong?

i set the nav 1, and all of those stuff correctly i think, but the altitude switch is the only problem that i have.

sorry for my english. i hope you could help me please. thanks!!

  • Your English is just fine!

    Here are some tips:

-When you switch from the GPS mode to the Nav mode, make sure you also turn on the "APR" switch.

-Make sure you intercept the glide slope from below. If you fly over the glide slope, then you'll miss it. Once you miss the interception, then the Alt Hold button will not be disengaged automatically.

    Hope this helps!

  • thank you so much!! now i think that the problem could be because i dont intercept the g/s from below, but i'll try it below 3000 feets.

thanks again! this tutorial helped me a lot to understand the ILS.

  • When you look at your "attitude mete" you will see two diamond shaped indicators. One is the horizontal indicator (known as the localizer) which shows whether or not you're lined up with the runway, the other one is the perpendicular indicator (known as the glide slope). Make sure your altitude is below G/S indicator, once you switch to the Nav mode and turn on the APR switch.

  • Watch Part-2 of this video again. I have marked these indicators for you.

  • fsx just looks so beautiful when you don't add all the junk to it.

  • after hours of trying then making the same flight as you did all i see is how it turned arround in cicrles... wow it was worth it lmfao!

  • damn i really really want to learn this but this so way too complicated for me at first to understand, anyone can make a simplier tutorial or something please? :(

  • @torero34 figured I could help even though i'm new. I new enough to know that I didn't ignore ATC. I followed ATC's orders and they seemed to eventually steer me right back on course. I saved beforehand though just to be safe.

  • do YOU have to adjust thrust or does the ILS do it for you??

  • @bruin6082 Although i am perfectly lined up with the GPS plan,ATC keeps giving me orders to turn, heading etc...

Shoould I ignore those orders or not?

  • Is that fs9 or fsx? and can you please give me the link for the plane

  • hahhhaha iran air

  • Continuing..... So I'm timing the decent towards the Runway. Thanks man, Looking forward for some answers.

    Regards, VF
