Many times it is important that the infielder rely on the quickness and flexibility of using one hand to catch the ball. Include one-hand drills in practice to help prepare your players for plays where quick raeactions are necessary.

  • I finished up at Arizona State.

  • I agree, the throwing hand should be as close as possible.

    I'm still a firm believer in two hands with the routine grounder, especially with the really young kids.

  • did you play college coach?

  • Good advise coach...but it's important to always try to keep the other hand close to the body and not have it going the opposite direction of the glove. You see this often with the younger kids.
