Would it not be much simpler and more effective if you just teach each other in person?

Of course teaching face to face is more effective. However, this video is about how students beginning to learn a new language can use xtranormal to practise dialogues. So your comment is not quite valid here. On the whole I agree with you though. Teaching is always best in a social environment. Sometimes this envrionment can be online.
