  • This is happening because the Irish Government did a deal with Shell to let them have the billions of dollars of natural gas off the Atlantic coast for free. Shell bribed members of the ruling party in Ireland -Fianna Fáil. The Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern has admitted he accepted bribes from the business community. Shell give money to Fianna Fáil as "political donations". How much did they give to Bertie to let them have all that gas? Millions?

  • Actually Ray Burke penned the deal back before he was kicked out of office and imprisoned for corruption. Bertie is filling his shoes now and trying to hide the fact his party has been fleecing the nation for over a decade.

  • Well said vintagekits.

Keep up the fight against these multinational companies who don't give a flying shit about the people, the country or the environment.

5 stars CptStern. It's on my favourites. The world must be told.

  • Its entertaining to read the comments on the Garda. Either they reflect British behviour, or the are clueless on what they are doing. I am sure they are cashing in on overtimepayments. How mane more BMWs were sold in the Republic of Ireland?

  • Guards are as bad as the british soldiers who opressed us before independence. They are protecting the fat cats against the will of the people. The guards are traitors against the people of Ireland, who will benifit from this pipeline.

  • the garda are scum,,,i have dogs that are better trained.

  • this fuckin country's a banana republic remember what connolly said about the futility of hoisting the green flag over dublin castle if the conditions of the working class remained unchanged. it may sound a bit jaded now in this "post-ideological" world we find ourselves, but the man was right. fianna fail gombeen fatcat traitorous mafia thieving cunts.

  • Don't blame the Gardai.......you know what? They are so inexperienced and haven't been attending to riot training, perhaps because they are too lazy.
