Ok to be honest i`ve never hooked up a keyboard to a comp before and I dont have a motif es I have a yamaha Mo8 which I guess function the same way how to I hook it up to the computer to get the tracks into protools? What i did was I connect the USB cable to the computer and then the keyboard but my computer is not reading it help me ou.

By USB you could only record midi informations. It"ll be too long to explain you here how configure your DAW here but you'll find surely a tutorial on the web. With an external sound card with line inputs you could record audio directly in your DAW.

Hey man nice vid. Can you show or explain how to save a song from pattern mode to a external hard drive or flash drive? I thought it was done the same way but it`s not when I tried to save it it`s just loading and never stop I had to force eject it.

It depends of the format you expected for your song.

for backup in native motif ES format: use save all pattern / load all pattern

To export in Protools/Cubase/... : save as SMF each section

To export the song in wav format : use resample function and save the wav file Works fine !

For you issue have you tried with another media or to upgrade to the latest version of the OS ?

Nice job, Maybe you can help me..How do you get the patterns placed in song mode? I've recorded a few patters and can't find how to place them in the song to play as a single song. I'm used to the Korg SEQ where you make a pattern then "put to track" . I'm not having much luck in the Motif ES SEQ. Thanks
