  • @HafizAbdallah not for your people, but the rest of us are laughing

  • @PaulieBeast You do realize that the whole idea of original sin is just appalling? What about the babies who die on child birth? It's hell for them. What about all the people living under another religion never even hearing about christianity? It's hell for all them too. On the other hand, rapists, murderers, thieves and terrorist can get to heaven just by honestly repenting and accepting Jesus to their hearts, while a new born baby or any other person is tormented forever for a finite "crime".

  • @saxophone323 except that, by their very definition, they are not testable hypotheses, and many claims made about the physical world are just plain wrong.

  • @zionpc1 I never claimed that there isn't anything out there that is greater than us, don't know what you're getting at haha.

  • question directed @ PaulieBeast

  • are you by chance part of the westboro baptist church? honest question.

  • @idreamtofflight This depends ENTIRELY on how you choose to define "greater power". Is there a god as the christians see it? I am intelligent, and I can say with 100% certainty that there is not.

That being said, are there beings in the universe with a better grasp of science and knowledge than us? Absolutely. It is the height of ignorance to believe we are the only planet in the universe with life. And the life that is out there could very well have "powers" that we can only dream of.

  • @saxophone323 "For the psychological benefits" Really? So, if someone is crazy, as long as its a "good" crazy, life is good?

Religion and Science are NOT the same. Religion aims to slow human progress since it tends to go against the wishes of "god". Science strives to move us forward.

Religion on most things: "Pray to make it better, its Gods will."

Science on most things: "Lets study what happened, learn what caused it, and work to make it better."

  • @saxophone323 The main difference is that science changes its view as new facts are uncovered, while religion denies them, so that faith can be preserved.

  • @Enginmaster

Oh the classic religion vs. science argument. Religion DOES work, at least on an individual basis for the psychological benefits it can provide, as well as the sense of community and giving to charity. Obviously, no, if you just pray for something you won't always get it by magic, that's just crazy. Science and religion are basically the same thing though: both aim to explain the laws, rules, and origins behind our universe. In many ways religions are unproven hypotheses.

  • @lolperson451 I don't think you understood my point. My point was that no one who is intelligent will say with 100% certainty that there is or is not some greater power, due to the obvious fact that we just can't know (unless if it somehow were to reveal itself). Of course I'm saying maybe, I never denied I was. Also, way to misquote me. My point was that you saying there is something >outside< the universe is flawed because the universe encompasses EVERYTHING. Do you not understand the flaw?

  • @idreamtofflight we haven't even traveled past the frickin planets in our solar system, let alone our galaxy or even the universe. How would you know what is out there?! Scientists had to make the "assumption" of uniform dust to prove Einstein's theory of field questions, making their proof a BELIEF. Your actually the one saying "maybe". And if the Big Bang and Multiuniverse theories are true, how do you explain the origin of that condense atom? "Only morons say that there is no God."

  • reminds me of planet of the apes

  • @gdroff what? no. religious people believe that they were born in the "Age of ignorance" so they go to heaven.

  • @MrLukeroberts91 good point. are only those smart enough to hear the bible's message subject to it, or does it not apply to people who dont know it/cant learn it. tho since "everyone is a born sinner" i guess a baby who dies is screwed.

  • @gdroff And this is only examining the homo sapien sapiens species or is hell a reserved suffering for us, as one of millions of species of life on earth just because we miraculously are intelligent?

  • "Masturbated all over their bodies" So like us

  • @lolperson451 you could say "maybe" all day, only morons say that they are certain there is or is not a god. but you're flawed in saying "larger form of power OUTSIDE the universe"... since the universe encompasses everything.

  • I love it how people say that the Catholic church is against the evolution theory. The Catholic Church has already acknowledge it. Also, a high ranked jewish priest died 5 years ago and mentioned Jesus as the messiah. Supposedly, Jesus visited when he was sleeping. Check it out on youtube.

  • Why did dad monkey call the son of god 'monkey' Jesus?

  • @Enginmaster Evolution is part of what i believe in. I just don't see why you can't see how complicated and amazing the universe is. How can it be possible that we are made up of even smaller living things, and then be part of a universe so great even our sun is a puny speck on it? Can't you see that maybe theres some larger form of power outside of the universe that could have made such a detailed masterpiece? Of all the good in the universe, you point out tiny flaws and blame it on religion.

  • And man isn't "shaky" in science, we discover more as we increase our capacity to do so.

  • @lolperson451- Flat Earth theory isn't "science" there was no experimentation done, at least none that provided any evidence in a flat earth, rendering it superstition. Also, Newton's views on atoms were a hypothesis, he didn't find evidence of subatomic particles because he didn't have the technology. Laws of science have an empirically determined constant, therefore his theory on atoms being the smallest was just that, a theory, and not scientific law.
