Third part of a testdrive my new Grand Concert 000 guitar made by David Newton
A definite winner!
Honduras mahogany body, Adirondack top, rosewood fretboard
12 frets to the body
1 13/16 at the nut and 12" radius

Drop D tuning - playing some licks based on the delta blues playing of Tommy Johnson and many others
bare fingers and lotsa strumming mixed with fingerpicking
I did a four part lesson on this kind of playing with free
TABLATURE
Here's the first lesson

  • wonderful stuff as usual...dropped D ...but whose song is that? I cannot place it.

  • @rayoll

the first position D-chord with the pink playing the fourth fret third string is a typical move Tommy Johnson did in his 'Canned Heat' song

I did a 4 part lesson on this song called

  • Great test drive, Daddy. An awesome sounding guitar, but just like in Nascar, who is driving really matters!

  • @daddystovepipe

Canned Heat..of course, I was thinking of a Houston Stackhouse thing in the same tuning but I knew I was off.

    . Thanks for the reply.
