It's really not as complicated as you might think. Learn what you can and can't do in a roundabout.

It is impossible to "drive a roundabout". They don't have an engine or a steering wheel. You might however drive a vehicle round a roundabout.

Let's agree to disagree. Roundabouts are actually useful.

It's a yield sign, not a stop sign. Stopping is only required if there is something to stop for, and unless you're avoiding a collision, never while within the roundabout.

As far as signals: You always signal before you leave (right blinker). You signal on approach as you would if it were a regular intersection (think of it without the island). So if your exit would have been a left turn without the roundabout, you signal left on approach, and switch over to the right blinker before you leave.

-.- so you have to think while driving?.. what a concept. what sucks are 4 way stops esp. when your the only one anywhere near the intersection. with 4 way stops your wasting fuel accelerating and adding more wear-and-tear on your brakes, and taking longer to get through the intersection...now that is something that is stupid.

1:59 Hmmm ... anybody notice that there were TWO vehicles in the roundabout when the first fire engine enters? The vehicle AHEAD of the fire engine keeps going, as it should. The other vehicle in the roundabout stops and yields to the two fire engines.

They're everywhere in Australia. They're better because cars get through quicker compared to a normal intersection, and you don't have to stop a lot of the time .

Do you stop if there's no traffic or pedestrians? When do you signal?
