  • step 4 : throw out the TV, thus never having to watch their BS again

  • It's times like this, I often wonder why I bother paying my television licence to the fascist and illuminati-owned BBC. I like to see the BBC, SKY, Channel 4, Five and ITV bankrupt and destroyed emotionally and economically.

  • Pissing off the BBC. Now there's an honourable pursuit.

  • I assume you're in the UK? Your licence fee has already paid for the BBC to produce anything they create which on any moral grounds should mean you can edit their programs as you see fit.

  • @thisismikehunt2009 I dont pay my TV license.. I had conveniently taken out my Cable box the day before the TV licensing man came to my house. After seeing that we were using it for playing a Playstation.. He signed us off for a year!

I was under the impression that you paid your TV License predominantly for the BBC.. Because they have no advertisements. Maybe that's just an urban myth, and I apologise if this is incorrect information.

  • Anyone who believes anything the BBC tells them needs to get some fresh air and stop drinking flouridated water (and open their eyes, ears and brain). imho.

  • @HumanityIsRising If you have a TV capable or associated equipment capable or watching or recording from a source of transmission of live TV, then you need a licence. However, if you were to use it to, say, only watch DVDs or a CCTV system, then you don't need the licence.

"Deception"? What deception? Ignorance of the public, more like!

  • @AidanLunn You don't have a choice according to legislation (not law). If you have a TV you have to pay for the BBC. They can't enforce it, as they are forcing people to contract through deception. Which is fraud.

  • @HumanityIsRising Well seeing as ITV are shirking their public service broadcasting obligations, I'd much rather have a choice of whether to pay a TV licence through the choice of whether to be able to receive live TV, rather than have no choice of whether to pay for the crap on commercial channels!

I don't see why commercial PSBs should have to give up their PSB obligations just because they can't afford it! If ITV can't afford to do something then they should close down!

  • @AidanLunn It's not Capita who made the call to link televisions with a license. They just enforce it. The government is ultimately using force to get people to contract. We can argue about the details if you like, but it gets us nowhere.

  • @HumanityIsRising Capita, who, as I've already told you, are responsible for collecting the TVL and the tactics used in that job, are clearly getting away with it - because they're a private company contracted out by the government!

  • @AidanLunn - Okay so it may not be the BBC who is ultimately in control, but those tactics are most definitely used. If a private company did that they would be in court facing charges of fraud.
