Breaking the Spell is a 1999 anarchist documentary, directed by Tim Lewis, Tim Ream, and Sir Chuck A. Rock.
Using amateur camera footage recorded by protesters at the scene of the 1999 Seattle WTO riots, it documents the riot from the perspective of the anarchists, their opinions of fellow protesters, local politicians, and includes footage which aired nationally on 60 Minutes.
The film is currently distributed by CrimethInc. on the CrimethInc. Guerilla Film Series, Volume One DVD.

  • nice piece of work :)

  • They interviewed a guy from the environmental movement who was also in the video Pickaxe. These anarchists get around. I'd never heard of the WTO or globalization until the battle in Seattle. A victory for the Left.

  • the cool thing is that in an anarchism, they could totally coexist. lol

    the capitalists and the communists.

just don't do the communist thing if you don't like it.

  • @OliieTheEpic So let's drink to that! One rapscallion to another! cheers

  • @TyrannisSicSemper Well alcohol does wonders to insults, but now that I think about it you are right, so thank you for your posts sir. It was a pleasure debating with you, I may not think full anarchism is right but we do need some freedom.

  • @OliieTheEpic Did you actually just call me a "knavish rapscallion" ..? I was impressed until you followed it up with the same old contrived argument about how you prefer a few creature comforts and trappings of so-called civilization.

The good news is, most of those things you mention have been privatized anyway and are no longer the domain of "government" exactly. That and/or suffering from such neglect as to barely notice the difference.

I didn't really question your happiness either ...

  • @TyrannisSicSemper

mmmhmm, you should go live in Africa where there is no government, it is basically true Anarchy there so you should love it.

Lots of nigger animals running wild as well. If you are lucky a witchdoctor might use your organs in a soup to cure their aids. lmao.

  • @TyrannisSicSemper I know full well how to protect my self you knavish rapscallion, I just am happy the way I am, its not perfect but its better then having people running through the streets doing what ever they want, be it rape or murder or looting, anyways whos going to work on roads when they break? whos going to work at the power plants? whos going to keep the water running? or the hospitals? When people dont have any incentive to work people wont work.

  • What's that silly song called in this film?

The one all the krusty punk kids sing when they get drunk?

The chorus goes "like a pot of ... simmering stew!"

  • @bmays002 charming ... feel free to kill yourself scumbag. Pretty please? Aw come on ...
