My son Ken (9) is getting aboard Pete Seeger's Clearwater next week. This is what Grandpa Seeger started 40 years ago almost single-handedly to raise the level of awareness on the pollution on the Hudson River.

I was there for this and it was a wonderful moment...........Pete is a national treasure and should have been given the Nobel Peace prize............we love you Pete!!!!!!!!!!!

Grandpa Pete Seeger is our GLOBAL treasure...I used to say NATIONAL treasure...but like everything else with the Folk Process...it changed for the times,but the core message must always remain the same.

You muuusstt be kidding. Pete's motto has become "Think globally; act locally" He put his money where his mouth is 40 years ago and build the Clearwater. Pete Seeger's desire to clean up the Hudson changed it from an industrial wasteland to "clear water." OF COURSE it should be re-christened with clear water from the source. It's symbolic. Get it??? HAPPY 90 YEARS, PETE!!
