No sadly you can not use GameCube controls. I don't have the first Battalion Wars game. But I do have the second. I will hopefully buy this game soon though.

After renting this game from BlockBuster Video sevral times, and deleting the memorie, Because I thought that I would never get the game again, Then I bought it from game stop....The next day the Batalion Wars 2 game came out...And I was angry, So I am still trying to beet Mission 13

I can imagine, not many people at all have played 1, so people don't know the concept, by the way, do you know if on 2 you can use game cube controllers?
