do u just go to random woods and search and find that stuff ?

Its a forest preserve (like an open park but with no play equipment or ball fields, just open fields and running and horse trails) that it has a river that cuts through it and I figured that people would go to the river to fish, camp, picnic back in the day.

I think he said it was from a pigion from the 70's or 80's.

Where'd you search? just the woods?

I looked at old 1938 areal photos of these woods and saw that there were a few trails running through the area, I then check a modern areal photo from 2005 to see if the trails are still in use, then I walked out to the woods and went looking for them, 90% of the time that's how I find places to hunt, the other 10% is just dumb luck.

If you want to find older coins you have to hunt in older sites, and you gotta do research.

just a tip don't wipe the mud from the coins! you will scratch them!

clean them at home whit some water and a mild soap!

I often wondered if an old stone well would be a good place to find old coins. I have an old farm that has an old stone well behind it. It looks realy safe. Em going to fill it in this summer but might try down in the bottum before I fill it in.
