I work there during summers. I've been in the tourist RR industry since 1985 and the BSRM is the best tourist RR/RR museum I've ever had the privilege to be associated with, a first-class organization all the way which is supervised almost entirely by serving RR professionals. All covered-service personnel must be NORAC qualified just like the host freight railroad (Housatonic) crews, except the BSRM personnel are all volunteers. All Class1 RR rules/regs apply.

Great video. Thanks. I've ridden most of the scenic railroads in New England, and this is definitely one of the more enjoyable rides. We were there a few months ago with our 6-year-old grandson, and a few of the crossing gates were not working properly due to a power outage. The train stopped before 3-4 of the crossings, and the conductors got out and manually flagged the traffic. It was great. We're going back this month. Great hot dogs from the guy with the push cart. Thanks again.

This is a great railroad that has a lot of fun to offer it's visitors. Over the next few years, I can surely see this operation expanding more! Great video!

Thanks for posting!!
Very nice scenery, and what looks to be an EMD SW9, what area of the U.S is this in, it surely is scenic.

You mean between the coaches as the train uncouples? It's actually an air hose, and yes, that's how they are disconnected. The couplings release when the hose straightens out.
