How to Replace 1998-2002 Honda Accord Clock illumination bulb

Do you have a 98-02 Honda Accord clock illumination that doesn't work?

Replacing a burned out clock illumination bulb normally costs around $45 at dealerships. The bulb costs only $5. Doing it yourself will save you $40!

How to replace the clock illumination bulb.

Step 1: Use a small flat head screwdriver and pry the clock assembly out.

Step 2: unplug the clock and hazard switch connecter.

Step 3: use a small flat head screwdriver to remove the bulb by turning counter clockwise.

Step 4: remove bulb and replace with new one.

I don't think they have color bulbs for the clock , only the dealer sells the clock ill. bulb.

can you post a video on how to replace the odometer backlight bulb for a 99 accord? that went out as well as the backlight for the clock and the low fuel indicator does not light up anymore...awesome video thank you

damm... i went to the honda dealership today and pay $3 for the light bulb,,,,, now i can tell what time it is at night.... thank you....this was easy

Radio shack bulb # 7219 272-1092. Once you take the old bulb out, you will see how to wrap the wires of the new bulb around the screw. Easy!

Did not work for me. Your clock cannister popped right now. Mine won't budge and I am messing up my dash with little screwdriver divots around the clock cannister.

Worked like a charm! Went to the dealership a while back and they wanted $40.00 to do it and told me that is was so expensive because they had to take apart the whole dashboard. I knew that was a rip off. Found this video, went to the dealership, bought a new light, and did it myself. The whole thing cost me $4.19.
