"The Unnamed" is the best new novel I have read since Jonathan Lethem's "The Fortress of Solitude." It's poignant and heartfelt and absolutely devastating in its portrayal of illness, family, and the endurance of romantic love.
"Then We Came to the End" was brilliant, but Ferris's new book is sublime.
Joshua Ferris' book The Unnamed is a very compassionate and intricate love story about a family trying to get through life when everything doesn't go as planned. Immediately after reading it I went out and bought his first book "Then We Came to the End", which I am now reading, and although it is different it is extremely engaging, insightful, and entertaining.
