  • @CalifornianGuitarist this is from 1972 and i don't know if it is available on cd. Otello is the best opera, Shakespeare's othelo is already a masterpiece, although Hamlet and King Lear are my favourites plays, Verdi wanted to write an opera of King Lear but for some reason he never did it

  • The originally scheduled Iago for this performannce was not Quilico but Tito Gobbi.

    Perchance do you have the Otello from the previous spring with McCracken, Milnes & Zylis-Gara, conducted by Karl Bohm?
