The God Delusion caused a sensation when it was published in 2006. Within weeks it became the most hotly debated topic, with Dawkins himself branded as either saint or sinner for presenting his hard-hitting, impassioned rebuttal of religion of all types. His argument could hardly be more topical. While Europe is becoming increasingly secularized, the rise of religious fundamentalism, whether in the Middle East or Middle America, is dramatically and dangerously dividing opinion around the world. In America, and elsewhere, a vigorous dispute between 'intelligent design' and Darwinism is seriously undermining and restricting the teaching of science. In many countries religious dogma from medieval times still serves to abuse basic human rights such as women's and gay rights. And all from a belief

in a God whose existence lacks evidence of any kind. Dawkins attacks God in all his forms. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry and abuses children. The God Delusion is a brilliantly argued, fascinating polemic that will be required reading for anyone interested in this most emotional and important subject.

  • "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal" - einstein

  • "Thank God, that he does not exist". Osho

  • @modernrocks You believe that a guy came back to life and flew into the sky, and I'm the stupid one? Okay Mr Koresh.

I don't care about the shroud, it doesn't prove anything. I don't see any link between Jesus and that piece of cloth. I wasn't the one who brought it up, you did.

  • @cornflakeclusters You are very disshonest, that or you are stupid. I never said what you claim i did. I follow messiah, thats my choice, i am only pointing to the shroud and asking you to give an explanation of why it is there, how it came to be and who it came from. The rest is your imagination. Just look into it or dont:)

  • @modernrocks What the shit are you talking about? Freemasons spending all day on Youtube? What are you smoking?

Your argument makes no sense, you say "Look at this cloth, it's really old. Let's assume it's from 2000 years ago, I bet it was wrapped around Jesus' corpse. That proves that Jesus was the son of God." It's a really long chain of irrational non sequiturs.

  • @cornflakeclusters Ok sorry, there are some freemasons that spend all day and night on yt doing what you do, you where acting just like they do, ignoring evidence and i thought u wasting my time. If you are true, then all i can say is do some honest research, look at both sides. The shroud is a great unexplained by modern science proof if you are looking, if you are not then its a cloth. I cant help you much more than that.

  • @modernrocks No, you haven't proven your claims. No, I'm not a Freemason. What does that have to do with anything?

  • @cornflakeclusters Hey i have proven my claims. Bro are you a freemason?

  • @modernrocks Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. You claim that Jesus was the son of God, born of a virgin womb, was killed and resurrected, then floated into the sky. That's a big claim, all the evidence you have is a piece of cloth with a man's face on it? That's not an extraordinary piece of evidence. At best, it's slightly intriguing, but it's not hard evidence of anything.

  • @cornflakeclusters Simple, put a cloth over a face and let me know when you get an image.

  • @modernrocks So, your belief is that there's an old piece of material with a man's face on it, you assume it must be Jesus' face, then you assume that if it is indeed Jesus' face then that must prove all of the absurd miracles in the Bible? That's a really silly way to think.

Why should I even believe that it is Jesus' face on the shroud? Even if it is Jesus' face, what would that prove? How would that prove Jesus' divinity?
