Tiny Friday - Doheny Beach 2009

A mellow late summer day, late afternoon of surfing the classic Doheny State Beach in south Orange County California on October 9, 2009. speed knee paddling 2:36 The waves were small, really small but that didn't stop everybody from groms to grandpas from enjoying a few fun rides.

Bob was out there too. He started surfing Doheny in 1962.

@RayWilliamJMother This breaks more on the South swells. This is is a good spot to learn. so is San Onofre.

im looking for a place to start off. i have an 8 ft wavestorm and i usually bodyboard at calafia but don't you think the waves there are to steep for such a long board? i thought of san onofre but i hear they got lots of sharks and now i hear doheny is polluted lol. what's my best option :P

Also there are alot of sharks everywhere. Can't think about that stuff. you will just sike yourself out!

polio pond is soooo nasty. idiot parents let there kids go in there and play around in it. thats how u get real disease

its fun on south swells but there are so many beginners who dont know how to turn and you get hit then they blame you

@KennyandtheSkull but san onofre is extremly rocky, and hard to walk on...plus you have to cut off early so you don't mess up your board. Are there a lot of big rocks at doheny?
