  • @sfkcbf I'm no expert on the evolution of vocal techniques in Western music, but i reckon she has a natural aptitude for the sort of technique required, sans excess vibrato or certain narrow misconceptions about how a female singer should approach this stuff. Most of my favourite Purcell songs (we know you do this well!) i tend to like when sung by good counter-tenors, but Ms Gvirts brings something else. She's a natural. Certainly one of my favourite recordings so far, too!

  • My assessment of your voice is that its focus, clarity, and power (suitable for the opera stage) are a closer match to the the Baroque-era alto-castrato sound than most singers today could produce. Very impressive.
