Death of Jesus Christ (as) according to Quran. Part 2

In this video series I have presented evidence from the Holy Quran regarding the death Jesus (as) according to Quran.

No Bodily Ascension

1. 17:93 states no human and messenger can bodily ascend to heaven (no exception stated).
2. 3:55 states God will cause Isa to die before his spiritual ascension (since a body can not move towards a spirit that is not limited by geography). Ibn-e-Abbas (ra) states mutawafika means 'death'.


Jesus is dead

3. 5:75 states Jesus (as) does not eat anymore.
4. 21:9 states no prophet was given a body that can live without food.

No one given an exceptionally long life

5. 21:35 states no one has been given an exceptionally long life.
6. 36:68 And whomsoever We give long life, we reverse him in creation. Then, do they have no sense? So if Isa (as) is still alive he has been reversed in creation. So how will a prophet who could not defend himself when he was a young man defend the entire muslim ummah from the Dajjal when he is even weaker in creation!



Jesus is dead and will not return

7. 10:28 states the people who were falsely worshipped as God will claim they were not aware of the deeds of their
people. How can Isa(as) say this if indeed he will come back?
8. 5:118 states that Isa(as) will say that while he was alive and among them he was a guradian over his people, but when God caused him to die ('tawafaitani here is also explained by mutawafika) then you were a guardian over them. So Jesus(as) is stating what verse 10:28 claims such people who were made gods without their knowledge will say.

Shaikh Zakariya Idrees Oseni World League Journal, the monthly organ of the Rabita al-Islami, published from Makka in Saudi Arabia writes:

"Whatever be the case, the Islamic belief is that Jesus died a natural death after God had saved him from crucifixion. The stories of his ascension after he had been saved from crucifixion, which we find in some Arabic books, are obviously taken from Christian sources and should not be taken very seriously by Muslims with discerning minds."

Prof Mustfa Al-Maraghi who was also the Rector of Al-Azhar University (Egypt), has writen in his Comentary on verse (Quran 3:55) The Jews who wanted, most maliciously, to inflict harm on Jesus, could not suceed in their plan. The meaning of the term tawaffa is death as usual; & the significance of raf' is his spiritual exaltation aft death. The verse, therefore, means: I will cause you to die; & aft ur death, I will exalt you in My presence; just as the Most High God has said of Idris (Enoch)
