I would love to know what the level of damage and contamination to human health and the environment is in Bolivia. Better to benefit economically than not, but at what cost? Are the same things happening in Bolivia that are happening in the US? Spills, illness, etc.

The Bolivia example doesn't work on a state by state level. If it were nationally, then yeah, revenues from gas could triple but if it's just done in PA, all the investors and oil companies would flee.

Instead of having corrupt corporations drill for the gas, how about having the public sector do it? Then you don't need to have a few individuals getting obscenely rich, and then have the public fight them for decent wages and prices. Why create these stupid obstacles? Not only that, but the gas belongs to the people who's feet it's under, not to a few wealthy individuals.

Pennsylvania wants to learn the hard way that elections have consequences.

@dangerouslytalented So what you are telling me is that every two years Americans decide to do nothing on the first tuesday of november. On that day, they decide to elect corpoarate financier shills instead of doing something to actually benefit the country? Why?
Methane [natural gas] being released [through hydraulic fracture] are about –‘20 time more polluting-‘ than CO2, from burned fossil fuels.
And can not be 100% captured through hydraulic fracture.

I'm from this area, newswatch 16 is one of my local news affiliates. It'd pretty bad, suburban middle class white housewives are being spied on by the government. Meanwhile local representatives are completely corrupt and in the pocket of big industry, real estate, and organized crime. Northeastern Pennsylvania is hell on earth.
