A Message to 2009 Graduates: We Need Better Leaders

Jean Lipman-Blumen is an expert in and author of leadership. Here, she challenges the recent graduates to take on the 'valuable inconvenience of leadership.' Meaning, it's not glamorous all the time. It's hard work and takes dedication. But unless a future generation takes on these leadership roles, we're going to continue to see poor leaders who are in it for the wrong reasons.

Lipman-Blumen is the author of, "The Allure of Toxic Leaders: Why We Follow Destructive Bosses and Corrupt Politicians."

She is a professor at Claremont Graduate University in CA.
