I am truly saddened to announce that Kristian has passed away. His wife Rachel post a great message he had written, followed by this:

"Kristian went to Heaven on 2nd of January 2012, just after 8am at Manly Hospital. His passing was truly peaceful and he had a tear in his eye as he left, and I have no doubt that he was looking on the face of Jesus."

Rest in peace, Kristian.

When Kristian Anderson was diagnosed with cancer he opted for a unique way to show how much he loved his wife on her birthday.

The 35-year-old made a video to thank her for supporting him throughout his cancer treatment and managed to convince actor Hugh Jackman and the New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, to make cameo appearances.

Key appears at the start of the video, wishing Anderson's wife, Rachel, a very happy birthday, while Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman makes an emotional appearance half way through.

The 42-year-old star looks straight into the camera and says, 'He loves you Rachel - he loves you.'

Throughout the video, Sydney-based Anderson holds up a series of cards expressing how he feels about his wife.

At one point he says, 'I need you like I need a cure for cancer' and 'As long as I live, my heart belongs to you.'

Anderson was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer in October 2009 and is undergoing chemotherapy for the illness.

Note: This video does not belong to me. It belongs to Kristian Anderson and his wonderful family. Also, the article belongs to The Daily Mail.I am not affiliated with The Daily Mail in any way and do not read any news articles on it, only articles like this.

  • It's a great video and a huge testimony... I'm thinkin in sharing it with the Youth Group on my church, but I need to translate it in order to make the subtitles (We speak spanish). I understand most the video but I have a problem with the phrase that the Prime Minister says. Will be a lot of help if somebody write what he says (in english) so i can translate it. Thank you.

  • @ITRMatix John Kay says:

Hi Rachel, it's John Kay, Prime Minister of New Zealand here. I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday and tell you that Kristian loves you. He is so appreciative of all your support and we wish you all a very happy birthday. I’ve just had mine a few days ago, I know what it’s like to feel a year older and feel a lot wiser.

    I hope that helps.

  • Also, if you would like to know more about Kristian and his fight, you can read his blog that he has posted since his diagnosis, just google "There is a crack in everything...that's how the light gets in." and you should find the link that way. For some reason it wont let me post the link.

  • @Diane40291 Hi, I just Googled it and found it. My God. Just reading a couple of lines makes me start to cry. I don't even know him or his family, yet seeing this video last year made some sort of connection with me and that's why uploaded their video. Oh God. He's been blogging since Oct 09 and I never even knew? Oh God. When I have time, I'm gonna read it all, from the beginning. If I had money, I would give it to his wife and kids so they never have money problems :(
